The Story Behind The Shoal Shad

The Shoal Shad wasn’t designed overnight. It was prototyped and refined over more than a year, with multiple configurations tested before I arrived at the final design you see today.

From the beginning, one of my main goals was to create a glide bait that could handle moving water. Fishing rivers and current puts different demands on a bait, so stability, balance, and control were a major part of the development process.

What I found through testing was that the same characteristics that make the Shoal Shad perform well in current also translate extremely well to lakes, ponds, and other still-water fisheries. The result is a versatile glide bait built to stay stable, track naturally, and perform in a wide range of conditions.

Every Shoal Shad is the result of countless hours of testing, adjusting, and refining until I was satisfied with the final product.
